Lucknow: Travel time between Lucknow to New Delhi will come down by two hours as Northern Railway is planning to increase the speed of trains along with change in routes plans.
Divisional railway manager A K Lahoti on Wednesday said while speed of mail express trains running at 50km/hour will be increased to 80km/hour, speed of express and superfast express trains running at present at 80km/hour will be extended to 100km/hour. This will cut down travel time by two hours. Some railway tracks would also be doubled, he said.
